Tamugimata district that is known as village of Taso Minka Private Houses of four levels of structure. It is dotted with private houses of roof of thatch in green and learns even illusion that totally loses the world of old tale, and was crowded. It is estimated that Taso Minka Private Houses was built in the culture Bunsei Era year when is in the latter half of the Edo era. When the Meiji era began, and sericulture became popular, roof was remodeled into "helmet structure" that outline and curve were beautiful, and window of lighting and drawing off the smoke was made with building with a hip roof at first on flat side and changed in building which there was in personality. Because land is small in this district, and there is much snow, and the enlargement of building was difficult, room for everyday living and work, sericulture is gathered up in one building, and it is said to multilayered form that it was.
