It is famous for Sakata oldest building Chinese-style gate. Gabled and hipped roof, Tang are gabled, and model follows Takashi Otani ancestral mausoleum by tile-roofing. It is completed in oblation of Mitsuoka Honma in 1800 (Kansei 12).

Chinese-style gate in entrance of the precincts is cultural assets of Sakata-shi designation. It is old historic temple of the Jodo Shin sect of Buddhism, but faith of merchant's family is ardent and is family temple of the Honmas who was famous for the Edo era, business magnate of Sakata. Magnificent Buddhist monastery deserves seeing.
