Sakata Festival, annual festival of Shimohie Jinja held on May 20, has been held with no break since 1609.
The present shrine pavilion was built in 1784. The principal god of Sakata Festival is Ubusunagami [guardian god of the area] of Sakata Zuijin-mon and the shrine pavilion are surrounded by rich natural forest of Sanno; also, both great in size with excellent workmanship.
Ema [wooden plaque] dedicated by wealthy merchants are also worth a visit
I am called and am got close to popular name "lower Sanno".

In Autumn, the great gingko tree at the tori gate on the side of Hiyoriyama Park spreads yellow leaves beautifully.
