In the Edo era, main transportation means from upper part and Edo became "ship", and Mogami River became the important transfer line. To Nagai, Koide-mura grew rapidly as merchant town as base of supplies interchange with Miyamura around "shrine anchorage" that became central station of Yonezawa feudal clan. We financed, and, as for the merchants of "Koide-mura" that gradually added to economic power by this Mogami River water transportation, private "Koide anchorage" by business magnates was made with merchants in shrine anchorage by the distance of land transportation being inconvenient. In this way, Koide-mura develops more drastically and is said to have been the prosperity as we get over shrine anchorage. Along the current Aramachi Street, building and Kura to leave flavor of merchant's family at the time for are left.
